Our Objective:

Establish a Green Transport Plan with the aim of reducing the proportion of car based transport component of our modal split at our leased tenancies, assets under management and developments by 50% by 2016.

At Lend Lease, sustainable transport means not only reducing the associated greenhouse gas emissions and improving the local air quality but also creating solutions that meet the needs of the local community. This is why Transport (Accessibility) is also a key component of our Community Development agenda. We understand it is imperative that the future needs of a community are considered and captured through good quality planning before infrastructure is put in place.

Opportunities must be taken within the planning process to make cycling, walking and public transport the modes of choice. These modes must be made more convenient for the majority of journeys than car usage in order to promote genuine modal shift. We also want to make these opportunities available at our developments, assets under management and our leased tenancies where we have a direct responsibility to help minimise our impact and create an environment to maximise the use of alternative modes of transport to the private car.
