Welcome to the Sustainability Update for Lend Lease Retail & Communities UK. We are pleased to be able to share with you our environmental and socio-economic performance since the release of our 2007 Sustainability Report.

Sustainability is at the top of our agenda at Lend Lease; we have integrated measurement processes into our normal business operations, set ourselves far-reaching sustainability objectives and annual targets and committed ourselves to transparently reporting on our progress on an annual basis. We are a dedicated founder member of the UK Green Buildings Council and through our joint work on organisational level Measurement & Reporting; we hope to be able to highlight the benefits of sustainability measurement and reporting to the whole property and construction industry.

Our Sustainability Update is structured according to our ten objective areas and summarises our performance against our 2007 targets as well as sets out annual targets for financial year 2008-09. We have highlighted some of our successes through our employees, 'Sustainability Heroes', who have been nominated for actively engineering the change required in our operations to realise our aspiration to be a sustainable organisation.
